Concept Sculpture and Painting

This Sculpture is an example of Futuristic Architecture. The Design and it's abstract shape make this look like a futuristic sculpture in my opinion

This Painting is what many people think the future will be like as far as transportation is concerned. Who knows, further into the future those cars could be flying in many peoples minds.

Writing Critque #1

The Future remains a question. It is a question that goes unanswered. “What does the future hold? Where will it take me? Will I be successful? How will I die?” Questions concerning the future are lost in a vast sea of unknown darkness. The past is distant and gone, but the present is bright and clear. There is a man alone in a world, surrounded by the temptations and the greed, and the dark areas of the world. He is small and uncertain, but he controls the unknown horizon. He is walking alone, paving a path, and painting the future. In the painting “Paint The Future”, Andrew Judd uses amplified proportions, an unknown background, and minimal color in order to convey ones control of the future despite uncertainty.
When the world seems to turn on you and when time seems to fly far too fast, you feel very alone. This loneliness is an important part of Andrew Judds work in this paining. He depicts only one lone man following a road that is being paved by a paint brush. The brush towers over the man like a skyscraper. The man is small compared to the scenery and the road, showing his control. Compared to the world around him he is small, but he still paints his own future and his success is in his own choices. It can also relate to peer pressure. The man may seem like he is the only one with a certain opinion, but he still must remain on his bright path away from the dark outsides
Andrew Judd presents the aspect of uncertainty in the painting through the background. He paints an ocean blue sky along with midnight hills and a gray scale ground to show the clouded years ahead. The sky is above and rising behind the hills giving a sign of what is to come. Its brightest shade is an oceanic blue and its darkest is a darkened navy. The hills ahead represent the obstacles that await they are inked and, forbidden, far way, and black. The small man knows these obstacles await, but he continues ahead for it is a fact of life. He must pursue his dreams and his goals and as long as he remains on his path, he will find his way through the unknown.
The artist also does not use much color in the paining. The background is dark to show the unknown and the sides of the road are gray and shadowed. The one part of the painting that is illuminated is the path with the brush and the man. It symbolizes the right direction that the man is heading in. The part that is illuminated could be called Chiaroscuro because of the strong contrast of bright and dark.
Even though it may seem impossible, everyone controls their own future. Heading in the right direction and making the right choices is all that it takes. There are temptations and evil in the world, but staying away is a choice. Artist Andrew Judd expresses this message in a creative yet simple way. He uses his roots as an artist by adding the paint brush as the guidance of the man to add a unique idea. The message and story behind this paining is strong and clear. The future still remains a question, but this painting tells us we can have an effect on it by what we do today.
